Circus of Fun 2013

A couple weeks ago we went to the circus with Jeffs family because it was in town. The boys were so excited and could not wait to get inside. Even the walk inside was an adventure as the boys talked and talked about what they thought they would see.

We made it to our seats before the show started and the first thing the boys noticed was the man selling cotten candy. Cotton candy is expensive at the circus but when you go you have to have some, that is just the way it is! They did really well sitting together and sharing it though:)

Since we arrived before the show we were able to get somewhat of a family shot in our seats.
of course Quintin and Zach were still stuffing their mouths with cotton candy!

The show got started and my boys can not sit still for very long. I was extremely surprised when they didnt move for almost an entire hour. They watched many exciting acts take the stage including the lions cage, elephants, clowns, trappists, elephants, cannon tricks, horses and more.

We did not last the whole circus but we came pretty close. Of course that was fine with the adults cause we got to escape the parking lot before it became insane. The next day I asked the boys what their favorite part of the circus was?  Zach answered with doggies and Quintin answered with when they shot the lady out of the cannon ball. They also asked when we were going to go back:)

Zachary is 3!!

Our Zachary turned three this month and it was so much fun to watch him celebrate with is friends. On his actual birthday we gave him our presents first thing in the morning. He was very surprised to get some of the things he had been asking for.

For Zachs party he chose a Winnie the Pooh theme which was not easy at all but we did the best we could with his choice. I kept the decorations and food very simple. I mostly used the computer to cut characters out. I had the themed table cloth with some balloons added for sky and grass. The kids had a blast eating nuggets with poohs favorite honey, mixed fruit and carrots from rabbits garden, and tigger tails(Cheetos). They made a fun hundred acre wood craft with stickers and finally ate cake. I didnt manage to get a whole lot of pictures at the party but here are a few.

a little shy at first

Spring Break

A couple weeks ago was Quintin's spring break week. We didn't do a lot though because we had the stomach bug floating around at the time. Zachary had already gotten it and Bekah was in the process of getting it.  The mornings consisted of the boys playing while mommy tried to get some stuff done. They were found jumping from the bed onto their pallet that they had made themselves with pillows and blankets.
We did manage to get out and enjoy the milder fifty/sixty degree days by visiting some local parks. First was Fort fun which my boys love because there is so much to do there. They have all kinds of things to climb on and their favorite is the boat shaped like a pirate ship. I dont think they even noticed we were missing out on anything that week.

We also went to Sandy Bottom park which was smaller than Fort Fun but the boys still had fun. It was a cooler day so we had to bundle up some.

Towards the end of the week we were all feeling a lot better and got together with the neighbors. Quintin has a new buddy Joshua and loves the time they spend together. He still misses his friends back in Texas very much and talks about them constantly, but at least he is making some new friends too.

For a sick spring break I thought it was a pretty good one!!

Quintin Turned Five....January 2013

Quintin decided on a Mickey Mouse themed birthday for his fifth birthday. We kept it small this year and just served cake and had some games for the kids. When the guests arrived they decorated a cookie with Mickey colors. This was a big hit at Zacharys second birthday, so Quintin wanted to decorate cookies for his party as well.

I handmade a lot of the party my self to save on costs. I made the happy birthday sign with my craft machine and I made the "pin the ear" on Mickey game with a black and white print out of Mickey mouse that I colored and covered one of his ears. All the kids took turns spinning the number of years they were and placing the ear on Mickey Mouse.

The cake was made a family member. Ashley Bannon who makes amazing cakes. She did a great job with the one Quintin saw in a picture and wanted. We finished the party with cake and presents. It was a great time!!

Visit to Texas winter 2013

Bekah and Quintin had the chance to visit Texas shortly after Christmas. Quintin was over the top excited about seeing his best bud Price. We spent the first half of our stay at the Burnettes home which was Prices house. Quintin loved every second he got to spend with his best bud. The weather was not very warm so we did not make it to the beach, but had some good times at Red River BQ Jimmy Changas, parks, and other places.

One thing the boys wanted to do while they were together was a craft. I think Emily and I were a little disappointed that we could not find an easy best friends craft. Price and Quintin seemed happy with matching monkey masks so we made our purchase and brought them back to the house to paint them.

Quintin always liked going to Prices house to play in his fort. This trip was no different!

While we were staying at the Burnettes home we got to have dinner with my neighbor and all the boys had a blast playing together.

One of my good friends from Texas decided to have a little get together for me. It was so great to see all the great ladies I was close to in one place again. I miss them so much and the friendships that were established. My prayer is that they will last a life time.

We had no babysitter of course so the kids had free reign up stairs which did not end too badly!

Quintin's time with Price flew by and it was time to say good bye. This good bye seemed easier then the first one. The boys know now that they can talk on skype and visit each other and that there will be a next time!!!
The rest of our stay was at another friends house. We had a play date at Mcdonalds and took lots of walks to the river where the kids loved to throw rocks. Ever since Quintin has come home from Texas this seems to be something he really enjoys wherever we are. We were also able to see a few more buds and play before we left including my good friend Mabel and her two kids.

On this trip I did not take enough pictures and it has convinced me that I need to start carrying my camera around with me again. The phone is just not cutting it!
We had a great visit to Texas though and I hope we can go back for another visit soon!

On our way back home Quintin and Bekah were missing everyone and needed a little distraction. Bekah decided coffee was what she needed and Quintin asked for the same. No, Bekah did not give him coffee, but did get him a hot cup of cocoa so he could pretend. It was a great mother son bonding experience.
